Congratulations, Mayor-Elect DeMaria

Carlo DeMaria was elected Mayor of Everett today by just over 300 votes, beating out Joe McGonagle in what became a sometimes heated and contentious contest.

We wish Mayor-elect DeMaria the best of luck in his first term in office. It is time for all factions to finally come together and work for the betterment of the city. We sincerely hope that the new mayor and the City Council will work together to improve the quality of life in our city. Everett, like many surrounding communities, is facing challenges that require city government to work together in a united purpose. We hope that the results of today's election will be a new chapter in our city's history.
