To accept the donations totaling $1400.00 to the Mayor's Summer Concert Series Account from the following: Larry White $500.00, Everett Car Service, Inc. $500.00 and Ciro's Foreign Car Repairs, Inc. $400.00.

To accept the donation of $100.00 from Edwin Guarino, Lorraine Guarino and Laurel Hickey to the Veterans Department-Gift Account.

To accept the donation of the following miscellaneous items that were donated from Mellon Bank to the Everett Police Department: 2-Conference Tables, 1-Book Case, 24 Chairs and 3-Conference Room Cabinets. (Passed sent down for concurrence)

To appropriate the amount of $184,162.82 from the Budgetary Fund Balance to the School Department Salaries Account to supplement health insurance agreement entered into by Former Mayor David Ragucci with the School Department on June 4, 2004. (Passed sent down for concurrence)

8. A0153-07 Ordinance/s/Alderman L. Charles DiPerri
That the Revised Ordinances of the City of Everett Chapter 18, Traffic and Motor Vehicles; Article V, Parking, Stopping and Standing; Section 18-134, Prohibited During Certain Hours on Certain Streets is hereby amended by adding Burditt Street, west side, from Parker Street for a distance of 95 feet in a northerly direction. That the Revised Ordinances of the City of Everett Chapter 18, Traffic and Motor Vehicles; Article V, Parking, Stopping and Standing; Section 18-134, Prohibited During Certain Hours on Certain Streets is hereby amended by adding Burditt Street, west side, from Emery Street for a distance of 60 feet in a southerly direction.(Ordained sent down for ordainment)

That the Revised Ordinances of the City of Everett Chapter 18, Traffic and Motor Vehicles; Article V, Parking, Stopping and Standing; Section 18-134, Prohibited During Certain Hours on Certain Streets is hereby amended by adding Burditt Street, west side, from Ferry Street to Emery Street in a southerly direction; amended to read "Ferry Street to Parker Street", with favorable recommendation on the amendment. That the Revised Ordinances of the City of Everett Chapter 18, Traffic and Motor Vehicles; Article V, Parking, Stopping and Standing; Section 18-134, Prohibited During Certain Hours on Certain Streets is hereby amended by adding Burditt Street, east side, from Timothy Avenue for a distance of 80 feet in a northerly direction. To create a school safety zone around the new Everett High School. (Enrolled sent down for enrollment)

13. A0215-07 Resolution/s/Alderman Robert Van Campen
That the Everett City Council is hereby opposed to passage of the "Verizon Bill," presently referred to as Senate Bill No. 1975 and House Bill No. 3385 which would allow Verizon and other Telecom Companies to sidestep the existing regulatory process for obtaining cable TV licenses from municipalities. To appropriate the amount of $80,000.00 from the Budgetary Fund Balance to the Personnel Department-Summer Job Account for the Mayor's Summer Youth Works Program. The amount of $10,000.00 would be for Fiscal Year 2007 and $70,000.00 for Fiscal Year 2008. (Passed sent down for concurrence)

That Representative Stephen Smith appear this meeting to talk on Bryant Street and Rich Street drainage areas for DCR and MWRA, also invite Julius Ofurie, City Engineer to attend.

16. C0006-07 Resolution/s/Councilor Leo McKinnon
That the City of Everett consider adding on their next bills, that we have a box to give ($1.00) one dollar for Everett Youth Organizations.

17. C0050-07 Resolution/s/Councilor Catherine Tomassi Hicks
That the Police monitor the no parking here to corner state law at the corners of Parlin Street and Main Street due to numerous complaints from the neighborhood, and citizens using the MBTA bus stops, as it is a safety issue for them having to get on the buses, all along Main Street.

18. C0133-07 Resolution/s/Councilor Catherine Tomassi Hicks
Police Traffic Division monitor Baldwin Ave corners as cars parking on both corners obstructing views for motorists causing alarm for neighborhood, as well as, concerns in event emergency apparatus need access to Baldwin Ave.

19. C0152-07 Resolution/s/Councilor Stephen Faia
To address the city's current position in terms of the city projects and repairs.


20. C0153-07 Resolution/s/Councilor Catherine Tomassi Hicks
Police monitor the Meadows Park due to numerous complaints, especially of a broken fence and kids climbing behind 22 Oakes Street.

21. C0160-07 Resolution/s/Councilors Matewsky, M. Cardello and Leo McKinnon
Park Department take immediate steps to rectify the unclean conditions at Lynde Street Playground.

22. C0198-07 Resolution/s/Councilors Cynthia Sarnie and Kay Hicks
Mass Highway/DCR place a "NO ENGINE BRAKING BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 9 P.M. AND 6 A.M." sign on Route 16 Santilli Highway by May Street.

NEW BUSINESS
23. C0169-07 Resolution/s/Councilor Stephen Simonelli
That the Mayor and someone from his Administration appear at this meeting to give the Common Council and the people of Everett a detailed and updated explanation of the criminal investigation at the Recreation Department.

24. C0170-07 Resolution/s/Councilor Stephen Simonelli
To have the City Engineer and Community Development seriously look at Francis Street, Franklin Street, Pleasant View Ave, High Street, from Ferry to Foster Street and Lexington Street, as these streets are in deplorable condition and need to be place on a priority list to be considered for repaving this year. No street in Ward Two has been repaved in two years.

25. C0175-07 Resolution/s/Councilors Lorrie Bruno and Rosa DiFlorio
That the Parking Clerk/Hearing Officer, Mr. Paul Kelly, appear this meeting for an update on the night time parking enforcement.

26. C0176-07 Ordinance/s/Councilor Joseph Hickey and Alderman L. Charles DiPerri
That any junk or second hand dealer in receipt of any military plaques or memorbilia who fails to notify law enforcement will be fined with permanent revocation of license according to the Ordinances of the City of Everett.

27. C0177-07 Order/s/Councilors Michael J. Mangan, Millie J. Cardello and Rosa DiFlorio
In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 17, Section 17.1 (b) of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Everett, “Names & destinations; erection of signposts”, that the intersection of Green Street and Mansfield Street be dedicated and named the “Joseph Vetrano Square”. Mr. Vetrano was a World War II Veteran.

28. C0178-07 Order/s/Councilors Michael J. Mangan, Millie J. Cardello and Rosa DiFlorio
In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 17, Section 17.1 (b) of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Everett, “Names & destinations; erection of signposts”, that the corner of Argyle Street and Harris Street be dedicated and named the “Francis Gallagher Square”. Mr. Gallagher was a World War II Veteran.

29. C0179-07 Resolution/s/Councilors Wayne A. Matewsky and John Leo McKinnon
That Mr. Pietrantonio of the Parks Department and Mr. Sheehan, the Director of City Services appear this meeting relative to the conditions of playgrounds in the City of Everett and their overall performance.

30. C0242-06 Resolution/s/Councilor James A. Keane
Be it
Resolved: To the Common Council, that the introduction of candidates for public office as such, at televised meetings may be in violation of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 55.

31. C0180-07 Resolution/s/Councilors Wayne A. Matewsky, Millie J. Cardello and John Leo McKinnon
To request that department heads respond on status of any item referred to them by the Common Council within a four week period, no exceptions, Traffic Commission excluded.

32. C0181-07 Resolution/s/Councilor James A. Keane
That Mayor Hanlon appear this meeting with report on update of different committees requested to be formed.
